Mazone, Catherine

ALBANY- Catherine Mazone, 90, died Thursday, October 14, 2010, at her home with her loving family by her side.
  Born in St. Caterina, Reggio, Calabria, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Isabella (Carnuccio) Criniti. Mrs. Mazone was a longtime communicant of the former St. James Church and recently began attending the Church of Mater Christi with her son. She was a member of the Albany Chapter of the Red Hats. Her greatest joys were her family, cooking and tending to her garden.
  Wife of the late Vincent J. Mazone; mother of Joseph (Phyllis) Mazone of Delmar, Vincent A. Mazone of FL., Michael (Laurie) Mazone of Albany, Marianne (Harry) Honikel of Albany and Donna Marie (Robert) Ackerman of NC. Mrs. Mazone is also survived by 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Wood.
Mrs. Mazone’s children would like to thank the staff of Community Hospice of Albany County especially Nina, Tiara, Tiffany, Shanna, Deanna, Joanne and Michelle; as well as her private caregivers Maria, Tara and Elaine for the care and comfort they provided their mother.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 18, 2010 at 8:45am from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home,Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Albany thence to the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St. Albany where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am.  Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Sunday, October 17, 2010 from 3-7pm. Entombment, St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
