DELMAR- Patricia A. Bannan, age 80, died Monday morning , July 30, 2012 after a long illness. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Born in Albany in 1932, Patricia was the daughter of Francis M. and Evelyn Layden and a 1950 graduate of Vincentian Institute. Patricia was a long-time employee of the National Savings Bank retiring as a customer service representative in 1989.
Longing to be creative and busy, Patricia was active in her parish church’s Alter Rosary Society, once serving as president and chairperson of its card party fundraising event. She was also a member of the Bethlehem Business Women’s Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The Family would like to thank the staff at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home for the kind and compassionate care she received.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 58 years, William R. Bannan and her children, William R. Bannan Jr. (Patricia) of High Falls, N.Y. and Martin J. Bannan (Dena) of Albany.
Funeral Services will take place Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 8:45 am from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc, 490 Delaware Ave. thence to St. Thomas Church, Delmar where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am. Relatives and friends may also call Wednesday, August 1, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow the Mass in Bethlehem Cemetery, Delmar.
