June 5, 2012ALBANY- Patricia Mulderry Bach, 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 5, 2012. Patricia was born in Albany to the late William J. D. and Kathleen C. (Dempsey) Mulderry. She was a graduate of St. Vincent de Paul Parish School, Vincentian Institute, and the College of St. Elizabeth in Convent Station, N.J., earning a bachelor of arts degree in history. After graduation, she taught first grade in Montgomery, Alabama, and then at the Cathedral Academy in Albany, until she and her husband, John (Jack), started a family in 1962. She returned to teaching in 1979, as a teacher of library science at the Academy of the Holy Names Lower and Middle School. She became the Academy’s first director of development, working with Sister Margaret Murphy to create the Academy’s development and alumni programs. She retired in 1996, and in May 2009 she was awarded the Academy’s Foundress Leadership and Service Award. Patricia was a communicant at the Parish of Mater Christi for 40 years and was a member of its choir. She served as a member of the board of The Evangelist. Patricia was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, John J. Bach, with whom she made a home filled with love and laughter. She is survived by their five children, who were crazy about her and to whom she was both friend and mother, Ellen M. Bach of Albany, John J. Bach, Jr. of New York City, Amy Bach DiLello of Providence, R.I., Erin Bach-Lloyd of Saratoga Springs, and Kathryn A. Bach of New York City; her sons-in-law, Robert V. Kelley III, Nicholas A. DiLello, Jr. and John D. Lloyd; five grandsons, for whom she was cookie baker and champion arm wrestler, Hugh Robert, Brendan John, and William Patrick Bach Kelley of Albany and Ryan Nicholas and Kieran John DiLello of Providence; brother, William J. D. Mulderry, Jr. and sister-in-law, Anne M. Mulderry; brother-in-law, Myron J. Bach and sister-in-law, Mary Ellyn Bach, and sister-in-law, Mary Allen. She was a much-loved aunt to 19 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary M. Smith and Kathleen M. Smith, brother-in-law, Dennis C. Smith, and nephew, Stephen V. Mulderry. She was fortunate in friendship and is survived by many dear and loyal friends who helped make much of the fun she found in life. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Academy of the Holy Names Chapel, 1073 New Scotland Road, Albany. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell Street, Albany. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Patricia M. Bach to the Academy of the Holy Names, 1075 New Scotland Road, Albany, NY 12208.
